Johnny Knox, Bears Receiver, To Have Back Surgery After Scary Hit

My prayers are with you, I hope the surgical team operating on you are covered by God.

LA Times reports — Click here to find out more!Chicago Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox will have surgery on his back to stabilize a vetebra after he was injured Sunday during a 38-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Knox caught a pass from Caleb Hanie in the first quarter and then fumbled. He was hit by Anthony Hargrove while diving to get the ball and was bent backward on the play. He stayed down for close to 10 minutes and was taken off the field on a stretcher.

“He has total movement throughout his body, has total use of all his extremities, which is good,” coach Lovie Smith said. “We’re doing tests right now. He has total movement. He’s not paralyzed or anything.”

The surgery means Knox will be out for the remainder of the season, but the injury is not considered career threatening. Knox had 37 receptions for 727 yards and two touchdowns with the Bears this season.
