For Terrance Williams (“Stress Dollaz”), music has been his passion. At an early age, Stress was exposed to numerous influences that have help stimulate his style; these influences include his roots in the Bronx his uncles, the renowned Mob Terror (aka Live Poets) and listening to old school rap, Jazz, and R & B with his mother. Hailing from the gritty streets of New York has refused to compromise his style for an industry trend.

In an industry that has evolved so drastically over the years, there’s one artist in particular who has
remained consistent while resisting the industry trends. Often times, these trends have sacrificed an artist’s originality, leading to a trendy commercial formula.

This musical prodigy has evolved in becoming one of the greatest underground artists to date. As a child, his uncles taught him that there was more involved in perfecting a formless art than meets the eye. He was also taught to be knowledgeable in all aspects of the music industry in order to succeed.

Stress began mixing his own melodies with an antique Yamaha keyboard, a saxophone, and a trumpet proving that this was not just a phase but a potential way of life for him. After his family realized the intensity of his desire and love for music, they invested in his first mixing board and microphone. With these essential tools within his reach, Stress would begin to produce tracks for several local artists throughout the years.

While doing so, Stress began to gain experience while touring as he learned first on a first hand basis what it took to become a successful performer. Even with this small glimpse of lime light, Stress was able to dig deeper into the foundation of the music business. With seeing what was needed to thrive in the business, Stress became more versatile as an artist which enabled him to because to perform at the drop of a hat while maintaining his unique charisma.

As an artist, Stress developed the ability of being a the proverbial “streetwise rapper” to a conscious lyricist without losing his audience’s attention or his core fan base as illustrated on his debut album “Who Am I?” With of his release of this album, Stress was able to sell an unprecedented 10,000 copies without the help of national distribution, retail management, and in-store support.

Impressing the likes of many fans, Stress also earned the opportunity to open up for artist such as Joe Buddens as well as been featured on a 2006 Tape Master’s Inc. mix tape and various DIPSET TALIBAN mixtapes and 100‘s of other features. Even though as accomplishing as this seems for
an artist such as stress, nothing is as exciting as being nominated in the category of “Most Original Solo Artist” at the 4th Annual Underground Music Awards.

Upon this recognition, many inquired more about Stress as he’s made appearances at Howard University’s charity event to several underground clubs throughout the east coast. With this debut success as an artist, Stress spawned his sophomore album, ‘Patience is a Virtue’, which exemplified a vintage freestyle techniques Stress had acquired earlier in his career. “I want to give a new meaning to the definition of ‘a diamond in the rough,’ he said while also stating, “Showing what it takes to maintain a career without sacrificing your artistic integrity.”

Stress also will be the first to admit, “I’d rather be known as an overachiever that takes creative risks than someone that follows the same lines as everyone else does.” In 2010 Stress Dollaz formed a label Rotten Apple Entertainment not only a artist but also a superb business man giving opportunities to new fresh artist on the come up.

Expect a more diverse project from Stress in the future with a strong machine behind him and his
impecable hustle and grind Stress is a force to be reckoned with.

AUDIO: D-Tall “Close To You”

I am really FEELING this song!!!

Follow him on Twitter @DTALLMUSIC and/or check out his website. Here is a bit about him (see below):

Opening for hip-hop crew Dipset (aka Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones etc); at the University of Akron in Ohio, put the wheels in motion for Midwest sensation D-Tall. It was a major accomplishment for an 18 year old kid who recorded a song in his dorm room but college just wasn’t the ticket for this artist. In 2005 he packed his bags and made the long 17-hour haul to Dallas.

“The biggest risk is not to take one.” I stacked my paper up, prayed about it and just moved, just like that. I made the skip from from the midwest to the south. In 2005 I loaded up the car and drove 17 hours to Dallas alone. The only person I knew when I moved here was my grandfather. He passed away in 2007. After he passed it was me, myself and I. I was 19yrs old and at that point I could either sink or swim. It was hard at first but I chose to swim.”

With so many rappers and producers on the scene, one can get lost in the shuffle and easily put into competition with the next rapper from down the block. Its’ a lot of talent in all over the nation and in Dallas but Tall definitely feels he holds his own.

“I think I have my own lane in terms of the Dallas music scene. The music speaks for its self. I don’t make dance songs but I never knock the ones that do because music is music. The dance records go hard in the club. We have a lot of hot records in Dallas but not many hot albums. I want to be that Artist out of Dallas that you see on the Cypher on the BET Awards. When they do those cyphers, you see a Miami rapper like Ace Hood, you see a New York rapper like Juelz Santana, you see a Cali rapper like Tyga but you don’t see a Dallas rapper… yet. I can hold my own in that arena. Shout out to all the upcoming Artist, especially the Triple D Artists. Its’ a lot of talent in this city.”

All Offical Clique a.k.a AOC which is parallel to 50cent’s g-unit and Cam’ron’s Dipset is one of DTall’s latest projects with collaborating with the artist you may find Tall surrounded by on a daily basis. Tall has hosted mixtapes for DJ StevieDee out of Dallas, DJ J-Mas out of Michigan, DJ P-Know in Kansas and many more.

“I don’t just rap. I write, compose, make beats and I ghost write for other artists. Overall, I know its a lot that I don’t know. With that said, going forward I plan to continue to work hard, stay humble and stay pray’d up. Its only the beginning.”

In 2010, Tall took his grind to another level. His mixtape record “FLY FOR NO REASON” was featured on over 50 mixtapes nationwide. Opening up for Artist such as Dorrough, Webbie, SouljaBoy and DJ’s like DJ Drama to name a few assisted in Tall gaining more exposure in several music markets. As a result, Tall began to get on the ticket for shows in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Michigan and of course Texas. During the 3rd quarter of the year Tall dropped the “ON MY WAY” mixtape which was eventually nominated for Mixtape of the Years honors for 2010 by Networkciti.com. The mixtape reached over 25,000 downloads the first 2 months. Look for Tall to become a house hold name in the industry among the BEST! (source)

Love & Hip Hop 2′s Kimbella Talks About The Fight Between Her and Chrissy

Well season 2 kicks off tonight & from the looks of it, this sh*t is about to POP OFF (bad girl club voice) LMAO…1st of all why do these chicks act like this, don’t you have to obtain/protect your man’s image?!?! I mean you do know they have FANS & not all of them are ADULTS…so why not act like your AGE ladies?!?! It is reported that the two in fact squashed the BEEF but it’s still juicy!!!

The Internet has been buzzing non-stop ever since the release of VH1′s Love & Hip Hop 2 super trailer. The sneak peak shows an explosive fight between Jim Jones’ longtime girlfriend Chrissy and Juelz Santana’s girlfriend, Kimbella. Well, XXL Eye Candy went to the source and got Kimbella on the phone to dish on the fight, if it caused friction between Dipset members Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, dating Fabolous and how she and Chrissy have actually squashed their beef since the taping of the show. Check back every day this week for another profile on a Love & Hip Hop 2 cast member.

Today, though, is all about blonde bombshell Kimbella. A!

XXLMag.com: Everyone is talking about this fight between you and Chrissy. What can you tell us about that fight?

Kimbella: I can’t really talk too much about it because we want everybody to tune into the show, November 14 on VH1. It was a super trailer and a lot of the editing was over-exaggerated, but I would say just tune in so you can see the real story of what happened.

It had to be edited, but we did see Chrissy beating you up. Being that both of your men are a part of the Diplomats together, does that create friction in the group?

I was obviously attacked. I just want everyone to see the story behind it when they tune in on the 14th of November and really just see what happened and how it happened and maybe try to understand why it happened. That’s all I can say about that. To this day, I can’t understand it and that’s just me being real. It will never be something that I will ever understand. That was three to four months ago, so we’ve gotten through that and past that. On my behalf, it didn’t cause friction between my man and Jim because I did not involve my man in that situation. I always feel like woman to woman should handle it with each other. They shouldn’t have to include their significant other if it’s a woman situation, so I didn’t involve Juelz. But of course he became involved because I told him what happened. I told him, ‘Listen, I will handle this myself. I don’t want you to get all shook up and wanting to do whatever.’ He knows I’m going to handle it as a woman just like I let him handle things as a man. That’s what we agreed to do.

From the trailer it appeared as if you telling Emily that you dated her man Fabolous sparked the fight between Chrissy and yourself. Is that accurate?

Well, yeah, it was all in the midst of me telling Emily that I dated Fab three years ago. From that point on, an altercation happened between me and Chrissy.

But you said you’ve patched up that situation since the taping?

Yeah, well, I’m always going to feel the way I feel about that situation and nothing is ever going to be the same between me and Chrissy. Anyone that’s in a siuation like that is always going to have some type of feeling of being attacked by someone you need to be around. But again, we have a respect for each other at this point in time that she knows she could never handle me like that ever again. That’s just where that ends.

What kind of response did Juelz give you after looking at the trailer?

He said the editing was crazy [Laughs]. The situation is totally different from the editing and the super trailer you guys saw. That’s why I’m saying you guys have to look at it and I hope they show it the way it was done. We’ll see. Once it airs, I’ll be able to talk more about this situation.

Did you get any feedback from Fab on this?

Me? No! Why would I ever talk to Fab? He’s a non-factor in my life. He was someone in my past and I don’t speak to people in my past. I’m not giving him any more five minutes of fame. My situation is with my kids and my career, nothing else, so that’s where I’m leaving that.

What else do you want people to know about your involvement in the show?

The reason I signed up to do this if for my fans and people that are interested in me as a personality to see who I am, as the real me. I’m very secure in myself, I keep it 100 and I really don’t give a fuck. At the end of the day, I’m going to be me and portray me the way I am. You guys will get to see everything I went through, as far as being surrounded by new women in the industry and them trying to get to know me and just the different things I had to go through. It’s going to be worth watching. It’s going to be incredible. It was REAL reality TV. Shit that happened really happened and you’ll get to see for yourself.
